We are back to racing in NY and we are attacking a pair of pick 3 plays (Like usual). I will be keying in on races 5-7 and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 8-10. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we believe we can maximize on. Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R5: 1, 5, 7, 8, 10
R6: 2, 6, 9, 11
R7: 3, 4, 7
Cost: $60.00
Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:
R8: 1, 2, 5, 8
R9: 1, 6, 7
R10: 7, 8, 9, 13
Cost: $48.00
Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
I am going to take the red hot Carmouche aboard (7) Jennemily to stalk the early pace and have a strong stretch drive. The outside post I think will allow this horse to find her footing early and be able to save energy around the turn.
$7.00 WPS 7 Cost: $21.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 2:
(7) RAPIDO GATTA moved to the turf three back and it looks like that’s where she belongs. Her 6F sprint at this level on 10/9 was her career best. Marquez rode her that day and he’s back aboard. Worth a shot today.
I’ll use with (9) Buyer’s Remorse and (10) Celestial Dream
$10.00 WPS 7 Cost: $30.00
$7.00 Ex 7 w/ 9,10 Cost: $14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
I wish I didn't have to, but going to have to go five deep in here. (1) Perpetual Change is a firster from English Channel and love them on grass, so will include. (5) Western Advantage is another firster in here that should show early speed to find the lead. I think this horse will be able to sustain a big run first time out so will include. (7) Tanners Neck Lane showed enough first time out to be a horse I like charging late down the stretch in here. (8) Polpis looks to be the horse to beat in here with the surface switch and pedigree. (10) Humpday is actually going to be my top selection in here. I expect a big jump from first time out and will be there late.
$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00
$1.00 Ex 1,7,10 w/ 1,5,7,8,10 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
This race is another crowded maiden special weight on grass where I am going to go four deep. My top selection is going to be (11) Pop the Bubbly who I anticipate to be stalking the early pace and have a convincing stretch drive under Carmouche. (9) Eau Claire is a firster in here that I really like and think will have a good pace to run into and possibly hit the wire first, so will include. (2) Mendham is from the Pletcher barn and should run a big race getting back to grass and a must include for me. Last play will be (6) Sassy Melissa who ran a good first race and stretching out here should be good. I like Johnny V aboard to be aggressive with this filly and give her the ride she needs to compete in here.
$3.00 WPS 11 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 9,11 w/ 2,6,9,11 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,6 w/ 2,6,9,11 Cost: $6.00
Race 7:
I really like (7) Three Technique to take this one and considered singling here, but couldn't pull the trigger. I also like (3) Americanus to be forwardly placed and could be able to sustain a huge run in here against a competitive field. I also like Rosario aboard (4) Famished to close strongly against a fast pace and be a bit of an upset in here.
$3.00 Ex Box 3,4,7 Cost: $18.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
There seems to be speed signed on. so I’ll focus on a stalker and two closers in here. (1) KITTEN BY THE SEA ran well to be 2nd behind Robin Sparkles. Similar effort today puts her right there. (8) MICROMILLION likes to come from far out of it. With these tighter turns, that makes it a little more difficult for Davis. They’ll need to work out a trip from back there but it’s not impossible. The one I want is (5) OVERHEATED. Handal turns to Rosario and I think this Distorted Humor will mind going this 8.5F distance. She’ll likely stalk and come with her run. (2) FLASHING RED was no surprise that she ran well on the grass as she’s out of a Thunder Gulch mare.
$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,5 w/ 1,2,5,8 Cost: $18.00
Race 9:
(1) DURESS has some fast races but seems to settle for 2nd, Albertrani now turns to Jose to carry him that final furlong. They’ll get first jump on the closers. I can’t resist the Pletcher runner (6) LAST OPPORTUNITY. Irad shows up here and the cut back to 6F is what this guy needs. There’s enough speed to set him up. I’m all in but the 10:1 ML is a little unrealistic because of the connections. (7) LYNCHBURG is very interesting as both his turf attempts were very good. He’ll have to handle the slight class hike but he exits a fast 5.5F sprint that puts him right there.
$7.00 WPS 6 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,6 w/ 1,5,6,7 Cost: $18.00
Race 10:
It’s hard to back a Luzzi runner as he doesn’t win often but, (7) MACHO BOY should be included in the conversation today. The 6F makes more sense for this guy. His best race came two back sprinting where he beat some of these entered here. The bullet work on 11/16 is what stands out. (13) PRINCIPAL DANCER has been on the shelf since the Spa. His last race, if duplicated, beats these. The layoff scares me a little but we’ll include. (8) DANGEROUS EDGE is the closer I want. He’s likely to be short odds considering he’s fresh of the Noda claim and retains Irad. (9) BEACH FRONT drops back to where he belongs and Lezcano takes the mount. Both positive moves.
