We have an 8 race card today at Aqueduct and we are looking to take down another pair of pick 3 plays. I am trying not to get ahead of myself, but I had myself a pretty good day yesterday. Obviously it will be going to my head (humbly). For our plays I will be keying in on races 3-5 and Big Pete will be focused on races 6-8; which covers the empire pick 6 sequence. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve the bankroll on. We are looking for suggestions on plays and formats of these blogs to improve our product. Please let us know if you have any suggestions as we can be reached on Twitter, @PetesPicks1, or by email, petespicksblog@gmail.com. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
I am going to take a shot in the first race with (2) Black Limo. I am trusting the class drop and surface switch to assist this horse in being able to sustain a much better run this time out. I do not think the favorite, (8) LotsNLotsofChrome, is someone to trust in here and I think Dylan will be able to workout a trip from the post position. I think it is worth a shot at those odds of 6/1.
$7.00 WPS 2 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 2 w/ 6,7,8 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 6,7,8 w/ 2 Cost: $6.00

Race 2:
(7) NASTY AFFAIR had some trouble last time and was left with too much to do in the slop. Noda has had some time with her now and gets Cancel back. There’s plenty of speed for them to sit behind and make their run. I’ll take the 7:2 ML.
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
We’ll use him on top with the two favorites
(1) Elegant Zip and (2) Sweet Mia
$ 7.00 Exacta 7 w/ 1, 2 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Nasty Affair in R2 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(5) Shanes Pretty Lady and (6) Frost Me look solid in the 3rd
$ 7.00 Double 7 w/ 5, 6 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 3:
This looks to be a competitive race where I landed on four. I really like the favorite, (2) Out First, in here and will be my top selection. I think this horse will enjoy the stretch out and the early pace should set this horse up well for a late surge to pass tiring horses. (6) Frost Me also is going to make my ticket as I think this horse will be able to run well first time out from an extended break and have plenty of legs late to challenge for this one. (5) Shanes Pretty Lady is an interesting horse in here for me if the pace is blistering and this horse is able to sit behind the pace and have plenty left come stretch drive. I also like the (4) Beach Banker angle in here to find the early lead in here and this horse looks to be ascending at the moment and could be ready to win after breaking her maiden.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 2,6 w/ 2,4,5,6 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 2,4,5,6 Cost: $6.00
Race 4:
This also should be an exciting race as we should anticipate some horses to outperform their PP's. I think that (4) One Whirlwind Ride will enjoy a fast track and run a much bigger race in here and needs to be on my ticket. I then will look to two horses without race experience to close out my plays. I will make (2) Kiss'N Mission my top pick in here with Lezcano aboard. Lezcano lost to a gamely Chad Brown horse yesterday with a firster and he will continue to get live horses at the meet. I think that this is one of them and he has the post position to let this horse find the early lead or right behind it and run on with it late. (10) Taino has the workout speed leading in that looks good, especially from the outside posts. I think Carmouche will be aggressive early and this horse could have the fight in him to battle until the wire.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 2,4,10 Cost: $12.00
Race 5:
We will close out the ticket with the three favorites in here as I just can't make a case for any others in here. At this level it is always a thought of mine to find the underdog on the tote board and ride with them, but just couldn't do it this time around. I think that (1) Hardcore Folklore has shown the ability to beat others in this race already and a forwardly placed horse from the inside is always a tempting angle for me. Plus, we get the entry who could run better than his recent form. (2) Other Things Equal looks very good in this spot to me to run down the early pace. I think Manny will be aggressive enough early to find a good stalking position and have the most left late to run down this field. (4) Autstrade I think will run a similar stalking race and looks to be in good form for this level and could find the wire first.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,2,4 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
The entry is very tempting as you get Pletcher and Brown. Both would attract attention on their own so we’ll need to include. (8) OFFICIATING has two solid runs this fall but both came in the slop. Mott has yet to win this meet so we’ll use defensively and look elsewhere. (6) THE REDS clearly wants distance and the 1M should be perfect. He was gaining through the stretch last time, then evened out. The addition of L1 may explain some of that, so we’ll look for this guy to get it done today. An interesting colt is (2) ASK MEAL. He was a few lengths behind Subsidize, who dominated yesterday, so this Cal Chrome may wake up at big odds.
$7.00 WPS 6 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,6 w/ 1,2,6,8 Cost: $18.00
Race 7:
Favorite, (5) WUDDA U THINK NOW, ran into Re-Pete winner Jerry the Nipper and now cuts back to 7F. He figures to be a handful and will look to control it from the start. (3) RAVEN ROCKS beat the favorite back in Oct and then ran into Jemography, who return to win again yesterday. Carmouche will most likely get this guy into the race early and save some kick late. (8) SARATOGA PAL needs some help up front to set him up late. If the rail horse puts pressure on the favorite, this guy will be a threat late. (6) NOTORIOUS FLIRT has kept good company and has held his own. Rice has the rabbit entered for him to make some noise late.
$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 3,5 w/ 3,5,6,8 Cost: $18.00
Race 8:
I like two geldings in this last race that should be a price. (4) ALLIED INVASION exits the same race as (13) PIER FORTY. Both lost to LostInRome who also returned a winner. I’ll lean more of Allied here as he gets Davis and is fresh off the Brown claim. The other longshot is (7) AMISTAD. He was closing in against better last time and now gets the hot Cancel. The interesting runner in here is the turf horse (8) WILD BANKER. He was gaining on Pier Forty and Lezcano returns. His 1 for 15 record is the eyesore but maybe the dirt is for him.
