Aqueduct 1/7 Pick 3 Plays

Thursday racing at Aqueduct and we are looking to take down a pair of pick 3 plays. We are looking to generate some momentum rolling into the weekend and today feels like a day to have a day. I will be keying in on races 3-5 and Big Pete will be focused on races 6-8; which these races cover the empire pick 6 sequence. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve the bankroll on. We are also looking for suggestions on plays and formats of these blogs to improve our product. Race 5:
If we can get anything close to 5/2 come post time on (3) Subsidize then I will be attacking on my CapitalOTB account. I think this horse staying in NY to train consistently and coming into this race after putting an 84 beyer speed I think sets this horse up for a maiden breaking performance. I will try and capitalize..

Race 2:
(4) SCILLY CAY may have needed his last two races to get his mojo back. Rice has nursed him back and she puts the stable rider up. There plenty of speed signed on to set this guy up for his late kick. Expecting a big run today.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 3:
We are scratched down to six horses in here which included the heavy favorites in here. I landed on (5) Bold Gem being my top selection in here with the experience and I think will enjoy the stretch out. I think that Hernandez will be able to find the rail early in this one and no one in this race is screaming out on paper that they would like to win this race. I think the field dictates a lot in here and will allow this horse to sustain a big run in here. (3) Social Group will also get a play for me with the connections in here. I think that if the horse shows any type of early run in here then Lezcano will take it from there and handle this relatively weaker field. (6) Legend of Ekati is an interesting horse for me in here with Dylan Davis aboard. He consistently places his horses in winning positions and would like to take a shot at this firster if he can find a trip in here.

Race 4:
We have an $8K claiming race in here that looks to be running through the morning line favorites. I really like (8) Honorable Service to handle this lower level field and run better than his last time out. I think this horse will be able to sit behind some early pace and be able to run past tiring horses late to take this one. Both Wayne Potts horses, (5) Dial One and (6) Earned Success, are also going to make my ticket. I think that (5) Dial One will be seeking that early pace to try and separate from this field and try and take them wire to wire. (6) Earned Success will be sitting right behind his stablemate and try and pass late. My last play will be a late closing (4) Loverboy Lou who I think will be set up well with some early speed battles and open up this horse to a strong stretch drive.

Race 5:
This race to me is (3) Subsidize race to lose and will only include two firsters in here for insurance to close the ticket. Chad left this horse in NY to get him a win to run in bigger races down south in the coming months and I think we should capitalize on it. (4) Z'Devil has an impressive workout leading in and Cancel has been closing well late, so will play for second. (5) Kawhi Me a River has Lezcano aboard and looks to be training consistently well, so will also play for second.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
I’m a little against the favorite Big Benny here. I just don’t think she wants to go this far. (5) AMOS has two wins and a 2nd this year on dirt. She also doesn’t mind going long. Potts is having a meet as well as Cancel. There’s a lot of things to like. (2) CHAYSENBRYN finished behind the fav but raced wide coming into the stretch and might be a little closer to the speeds this time. (3) MAKE OR BREAK was left with too much to do coming from far back last time. She’s fresh off the claim and has a win on this track and this distance. She may be the horse for course angle and that’s where I’ll land.

Race 7:
(4) LIL COMMISSIONER loses Franco buts picks up Carmouche and will be aggressive with Lil to show speed. If he can clear the rail runner, they may control it most of the way. (3) MIHOS is the one to watch. He seems to be rounding back into form. This Cairo Prince won’t mind the 1M distance as well. (6) SOMEDAY JONES is fresh off the Maker claim so improvement is expected. He usually hits the board and has won more than a 1/3 of his races.

Race 8:
I’ll spread out here as this group has proven they can’t win. (5) HEALY’S HOPE ships in for Noda. He doesn’t have speed but, usually comes late. (7) NUMBER ONE DILLION has a similar running style and now has spent time with Atras and gets Franco. May show more speed today and forget to stop. (4) DAVID’S GEM is your speed and will gun to the front. He’s been away for a little bit and drops so we will hold are breath through the stretch. (1) NO MORE MIRACLES will light the board if he can transfer his turf race last time to the dirt today. He was closing in late and will try to do it again.
