Thursday racing in NY on this cold day and we are looking to take down a pair of pick 3 plays that cover the pick 6 sequence. I will be locked in on races 3-5 and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 6-8. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve our bankroll on. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive new blog posts and a weekly blog sent to your email. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R3: 1, 3, 6, 7

R4: 2, 3, 7

R5: 1, 5, 7

Cost: $36.00

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

R6: 1, 4, 5

R7: 3, 5, 7, 8

R8: 4, 5, 6, 9

Cost: $48.00

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 2:

I am going to take (6) Mama Kin in this one to run a big one in this one. I think Lezcano will be aggressive from the gate to place this horse in a nice stalking position. I think others in this field will challenge for the early lead and make them relatively vulnerable late. Which is where I think (6) Mama Kin fans out wide come stretch drive and run a big race.

$7.00 WPS 6 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 6 w/ 1,3,5 Cost: $9.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

(1A) WRITER’S REGRET has shown speed in all of his races and almost lasted when he faced 40K claimers. Now he drops to the next level below and should prove tough to catch if he gets away again. I’m expecting some improvement today and the 4:1 ML is attractive. Cancel returns as well.

$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00

We’ll use him with the two favorites for our exacta.

(7) Skippingandajumpin and (8) Out Of Tune

$ 7.00 Exacta 1 w/ 7, 8 Cost $ 14.00

We’ll also use Litterbox in R3 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

(4) Queen’s Mason and (5) Cause Of Action look solid in the 4th

$ 7.00 Double 1 w/ 4, 5 Cost $ 14.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 3:

I did like Big Pete's best bet above in (1A) Writer's Regret in here to show early speed and challenge this lower level field to catch up. I think this is the field that this horse needs to break his maiden. I also really like (3) BeatThatFlew in here to close strongly against this field with it being his second time out on dirt. (6) Scotto is getting a second chance after being blinded by fog last time out and gets blinders. I think this horse will show much more run then his debut and be a nice price. (7) SkippingAndAJumpin looks to be a dangerous horse at this level and a must play for me if he is just too good for this field.

$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 1,3 w/ 1,3,6,7 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 6,7 w/ 1,3,6,7 Cost: $6.00

Race 4:

Three deep in this one for me with (3) Pinky Dude being my top pick in here. I think this horse will run a similar race from his last time out and that would be plenty for this field. I also like (2) Beach Front to run a big race in here forwardly placed under Lezcano. I think this horse has a great post position to save ground around the turn and then have the late speed needed to challenge for the wire. (7) Tapizearance second time out after a long layoff and showed early speed last time out. I think this horse will be forced to sit behind the early pace and has shown ability on this course. I think this horse could play upset here.

$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 2,3,7 Cost: $12.00

Race 5:

Chad Brown firster is a must play for me and most likely winner in here. I will also include the Rudy Rodriguez entries and the outside horse in (7) Lemon Drop Road who has been training lights out. I really feel this is just a paid workout for (5) Crowded Trade and may be worth a single.

$5.00 Ex 5 w/ 1,7 Cost: $10.00

$2.00 Ex 1,7 w/ 1,5,7 Cost: $8.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 6:

The Atras entry may have lost it’s appeal with the scratch of Montauk Daddy. (5) MONEY IN THE BANK has been on a roll lately and almost handled the next level last time. He gets another crack at them today. (1A) BRILLIANT BROOKS has back to back wins and isn’t facing the strongest field here. His last was faster than these so that may offset the class hike. (4) LATIN LOVE BUG finished behind Money two back and cuts back to the 6.5F. He’ll be big odds and has a shot if the above two forget to run today.

$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 1,5 w/ 1,4,5 Cost: $12.00

Race 7:

Bourbonic returned last week to win again so that bodes well for the two exiting his maiden score last month.(5) SONO GRATO improved to get 3rd on the drop and Carmouche returns. He gets L1 and may show a little more speed today. (7) BLU GROTTO also improved facing claimers and almost took them all the way. If left alone today, Lezcano can steal this one. (8) NERVES OF STEEL attracts Davis and makes the drop. Sometimes that enough to turn the switch on for these young boys. I have to take a shot with (3) ROCCO STRONG as he ran well when switched to dirt and dropped to this level. Now Martin lures Cancel for this a sports two strong bullets. This Shackleford will get this 1M distance and be a price.

$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 3,7 w/ 3,5,7,8 Cost: $18.00

Race 8:

We’ll spread out here and use several. (4) SCARF IT DOWN has two strong runs at this level and they both came with Carmouche up. He returns for Noda today. The other Noda, (5) HOORAY FOR HARVEY is fresh off the claim for a hot barn and a major switch at the jock position. He will be dangerous in here. (6) HAMMERIN AAMER has tailed off a little while facing better but nows takes the necessary drop. Potts is winning races and may have found the right field for this guy. I’ll lean on (9) CHIEF KNOW IT ALLwas once dominating this level last winter and now returns to the basement. He’s a double digit runner that will clearly get overlooked. We’ll try to sneak this in as Davis returns.

$7.00 WPS 9 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 5,9 w/ 4,5,6,9 Cost: $18.00
