We have another great day of racing in NY and we are looking to take down a pair of pick 3 plays. I will be focusing in on races 4-6 and Big Pete will close the card with races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race that we would like to try and improve the bankroll on. Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
I am going with the early Lezcano daily double in here. I think that he has the best horse in the first with (6) Democratic Values and I think has a strong contender in the second with (7) Princess in Charge. I think in the first race he will not mess around and place his horse on the lead or right behind it and run on with it late. I think in the second he will have a much similar tactic and challenge this lower level field to chase his horse down late. I like his chances of hitting the first two races so will play with a WPS and the double.
R1: $5.00 WPS 6 Cost: $15.00
R1: $10.00 Double 6 w/ 7 Cost: $10.00
R2: $5.00 WPS 7 Cost: $15.00

Race 3:
(6) MONEY RIDE was left with too much to do after a tardy start put him last. He made up a lot of ground through the stretch but the race was over at the start. The outside draw should steer him clear of the others and stay much closer to the field early. With plenty of speed entered, look for Cancel to reel them in late.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
We’ll use him on top with two longshots underneath for our exacta.
(2) Morning Breez and (3) Sicarii
$ 7.00 Exacta 6 w/ 2, 3 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Money Ride in R3 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(6) Z’ Finale and (9) Judge Alexander look solid in the 4th
$ 7.00 Double 6 w/ 6, 9 Cost $ 14.00

Race 4:
What a battle of a race this will be with some horses that just haven't put it together just yet. This is forcing me to run four deep in here. (2) Ratchet is a very interesting horse in here who I think has a good chance of being sent to the lead and not being passed by this field. (6) Z'Finale is my closer play in here to sit off the pace and come with a late surge to try and hit the wire first. (7) Ringgood is an untrustworthy favorite in here, but has strung together some decent performances in previous races and this could be the field that breaks his maiden. (9) Judge Alexander was my last horse to be included as he is still trying to find his footing on the track, but with limited experience it could be this race that he figures it out against this weak field.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 2,6 w/ 2,6,7,9 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 7,9 w/ 2,6,7,9 Cost: $6.00
Race 5:
This race also looks to be highly competitive and I will again go four deep in here. (1) Blugrascat's Smile is the horse I like in the entries and I think will be able to sit behind the early pace and have a convincing run late. (5) Lucky Ramsey is coming in to this one after a 90 beyer speed last time out and looks to be in very good form. I think he will handle the track better this time out with the moisture and be a tough contender. (7) Scarf it Down is also coming in with some momentum and the Noda barn could be heating things up as well. These races are always fun to watch as you can see the horses really give it their all out there and this horse looks to have grit. (9) Creative Style loves the moisture in the ground and the deserving favorite in here. I think this horse will be a tough beat at this level and could run away from the field late.
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 5,9 w/ 1,5,7,9 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,7 w/ 1,5,7,9 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
Will be taking a bit of a stand and closing the card with three horses. I really like the top two morning line horses in (1) Jill's a Hot Mess and (6) BreakfastatBonnies. I think that (1) Jill's a Hot Mess's experience in here will pay off with the inside position to find the early lead and possibly wire this field. I think that (6) BreakfastatBonnies will be a firster who has early speed and should run a big one for the Gargan barn. I will close my plays with (2) No Payne who I think could play a big role late in this one. I think the post position will allow this horse to sit behind the lead and I think will be able to save ground around the turn to fan out wide and try and run down this field.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,2,6 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
The two favorites will most likely control this right from the start assuming they bring their A game. (4) PERCEIVED will have to be sharp off a long layoff and it’s not a great sign when Brown drops like this. (3) JERUSALEM GATES has speed and ships in from Parx. He’ll gun to the front and try to hold them off. We’ll use both but look for some closers to catch them both. Noda woke up a runner yesterday that had similar lines that (1) FIRST LINE has. Couldn’t last against better and now drops in for a tag. The aggressive Carmouche will get this gelding in the game early in hopes of getting to the line first. NY Bred (9) COLORMEPAZZI needs both the favorites to not show up and First Line to be washed up. Both possible but it’s a big ask.
$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 1,4 w/ 1,3,4,9 Cost: $18.00
Race 8:
(5) STAN THE MAN figures to get the perfect set up. Any one of his sprint races in 2020 stack up well against these. Cancel has figured him out and hopes the 3rd time is the charm. (4) MY BOY TATE was a close 2nd to Stan three back and now has Franco in his corner. He can stalk and get first jump on Stan and try to hold him off. If the pace gets hot, that also sets up (2) DRAFTED. He was moving behind Stan in the Fall High Weight to finish 3 lengths back. That was off a 9 month vacation. Davis gets the re-ride and that’s where I’ll land. The extra distance should help.
$7.00 WPS 2 Cost: $21.00
$5.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 2,4,5 Cost: $20.00
Race 9:
Maker drops (11) DOUBLY BLESSED and switches to the dirt. He won yesterday with this move as Franco returns. Moisture won’t bother this Empire Maker and the class relief only helps. Same can be said about the Mott runner (5) TIERGAN. He has a couple of races, one on dirt, that make him the horse to beat if he can get back to them. Both (7) SUPER WICKED CHARM and (13) IMPLIED VOLATILITY also drop in after facing much better animals. Sometimes that’s enough to wake them up and run a big one every now and then.
