Ten races to tackle on this Thursday card at the Spa. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 5-7). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $ 5.00 Early Double:

R1: 6, 7

R2: 12 Cost: $ 10.00

Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R5: 3, 6, 8

R6: 2, 3, 6, 8

R7: 7, 8, 9, 11 Cost: $ 48.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 2, 3, 7

R9: 2, 4, 7, 8

R10: 8, 9, 10 Cost: $ 36.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

A tough race with several possibilities. I'm not sure I trust the Brown runner coming off the long layoff. If he's 100%, he'll be tough, but I feel as though I need to take a shot against him. EZ Roll is another logical choice, but he seems to be heading in the wrong direction outside the NYS ranks. I'm going to try a price and swing for the fences on a Tapit that has finished first in 14 tries. (4) FATEFUL LIGHTNING was too far back to catch EZ Roll, and the slight cutback may help his closing kick. A better break is a must so that Carmouche can work his magic late in the game.

I’ll use (2) Ex Roll and (8) Nuanced to complete the exacta.

$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex Box 2, 4, 8 Cost $ 18.00

We’ll also use (4) Fateful Lightning in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

(6) Juana Margarita and (11) Quoted in the 4th.

$ 7.00 Daily Double 4 w/ 6, 11 Cost $ 14.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

(3) DREAM MACHINE is one of two from Brown. He called it a day when affected by a fallen horse in his debut. Can't blame him, and now they add L1. He looked uncomfortable early on, so maybe that will help. His stablemate, (2) EZATOPEK is getting more attention. He's bred to be a good one, and Prat getting on may make him live. (7) BOGUS OPERANDI is the speed unless a firster gets carried away. He sports the highest speed figure, so they will need to reel him in.

$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex Box 2, 3, 7 Cost $ 18.00

Race 9:

(7) RISK TOLERANCE tries stakes competition as he keeps improving. He likely has to beat one of his stablemates. I prefer (4) SALAMIS in this spot as Prat chooses this one. He beat Spirit of St. Louis who came back strong in his next out race. (2) KUPUNA and (8) TAKING CANDY both have a closing kick if they find a clear path at the leaders.

$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 2, 4 w/ 2, 4, 7, 8 Cost $ 18.00

Race 10:

(9) BEFORE THE WIND and (10) GILBANE have the highest speed figures, and both Javier and Manny are riding well. Both stick around for the finale, so the race goes through these two. The sleeper is (8) BEAU CHEVAL , who goes out 2nd time for Sharp. If the other two don't fire, he can be the wise guy that shows up late.

$ 7.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex Box 8, 9, 10 Cost $ 18.00
