We have 11 races with the Belmont Stakes in mind. The Peter Pan is the feature for the 3yr olds. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 6-8). Big Pete will attack two "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 9-11); GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 5.00 Early Double:
R1: 5, 6
R2: 5, 6 Cost: $ 20.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R6: 1, 2, 5
R7: 3, 5, 7
R8: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Cost: $ 45.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R9: 2, 3
R10: 1, 3, 4, 7
R11: 2, 3, 8, 9 Cost: $ 32.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
The favorite scratches out so that leaves (4) RED MILLER as the one to beat. He drops where all the others have tried this level. Davis will stalk the early leaders and close in late.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Ex 4 w/ 2, 6 Cost: $ 14.00
We'll use (4) Red Miller in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(3) Dividend Recap or (5) Neshika in the 4th.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 4 w/ 3, 5 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 5:
(1) KADENA has maintained her form with three straight wins before tacking strong contenders in her last two, She can save ground behind the speeds today and make her patented run through the lane.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 2, 4 Cost: $ 18.00
We'll use (1) Kadena in R5 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(2) Full Moon Madness or (5) One Nine Hundred in the 6th.
$ 5.00 Daily Double 1 w/ 2, 5 Cost $ 10.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 9:
(3) GROWTH EQUITY looks special as this Nyquist wants more ground, and he gets it in this 2-turn Peter Pan. His win last time was very easy, and the jock really didn't ask much. Now Prat takes over, and this guy should set up shop on or near the lead before taking over turning for home. This is his prep for the Belmont, and he doesn't meet much here today. (2) AZAM is another with speed and also wants more ground. He'll put pressure on Jimmy and most likely soften him up. I'll use (6) GULFY to come late and pass tired horses for the runner-up positions.
$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Ex 3 w/ 2, 6 Cost $ 14.00
Race 10:
(1) RIGHT TO VOTE returns after being off for a year and a half. It's Brown though, so he does this often. I'm expecting him to be ready, and Hill Prince's effort puts him right there. The other Brown, (3) ARKHIPOV , is the one to beat. Prat got the test drive in Keeneland last month, and it should be all systems go today. (4) BLOWN COVER handled the grass, winning 3 of 4 so far. This Gun Runner stretching out is very interesting at this 8:1 ML. (7) GOLDEN CHANNEL ships North and has the best speed figure of this bunch. He can easily get to the front early and take them a long way. Weaver has him ready to roll.
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 4, 7 w/ 1, 3, 4, 7 Cost $ 18.00
Race 11:
(9) ICE HOUSE has speed and breaks outside the other speeds. Manny can decide to go or stalk and control the race right from the start. Both (8) DEACON BLUES and (2) MUSIC IN MOTION ran similar stalking races prior to this and will likely do the same today. They need the speed to back up, though, to make their late kick count. I will try to run them all down with (3) DAISY DOO. They treat him with L1 today and switch to Castellano. His speed figure from Saratoga matches this group and he ran okay fresh off the bench in his debut.
