We are looking to close the weekend out with some cashed tickets at Saratoga. We will be looking to cover the entire card again today and hope that we all can get some nice payouts. I will be focused on the early double and a spot pick 3 (Races 5-7). Big Pete will be locked into the late pick 3 (Races 8-10) and have a couple of his "Plays of the Day" to cover the other races on the card. We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(5) TAPPLE CIDER was trying for turf but the off and extra distance should work in her favor. This filly will get to go two turns for the first time and that’s what these Tonalists want to do. He mom has produced wet track winners as well so if there is any left over moisture, she’ll probably like it.
We’ll use (7) Pop The Bubbly and (8) Epona’s Dream underneath.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 14.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 5 w/ 7, 8 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Tapple Cider in R3 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
Both the (1) Entry and (3) Moonachie look solid in the 4th
$ 7.00 Double 5 w/ 1, 3 Cost $ 14.00
Race 4:
(3) MOONACHIE ships back to the NYRA circuit where he has fared well in the past. The Central Bankers are producing especially on off tracks. Vargas has a win on him back in March and they are looking for the Re-Pete today.
We’ll use the (1) Entry and (6) Power Up Paynter underneath.
$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost $ 14.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 3 w/ 1, 6 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's "Early" Double:
Race 1:
We have to include two horses that have at least one race under their belt and performed pretty well. (2) Trade Secret has the post position and the speed to find the lead and hold on to it. Ricardo Santana, Jr. is red hot right now and is linking back up with his regular Asmussen connections. (6) Tap N Glo is going to be sent to be right off the lead in here and should improve from last time out. We should expect Manny to stalk the lead and fan out wide to find the running lane to compete late for this one. (4) Tout Ensemble is the Irad/Chad Brown connection and looks great on paper in here. The workouts leading in make me believe that this horse will have plenty left in this 6 furlongs race. My top pick is going to be (3) OpenTheGate who I love on paper in here. This horse is training lights out and should be able to find a nice rail position in here to save ground. I trust Alvarado to send this horse when the timing is right and this firster is going to be impressive.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 2,3 w/ 2,3,4,6 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 4,6 w/ 2,3,4,6 Cost: $6.00
Race 2:
(6) Luna's In Charge is going to be my top selection in here under Gaffalione. This horse should be able to make up ground late against this field and make a splash down the stretch. I trust Gaffalione to draft behind the early pace and have plenty of horse late to compete for this one. (8) Lookin For Trouble sticking around for this one after it moves off the grass is interesting to me. This horse had some good performances on some off tracks and plans to be on or close to the lead. I trust Irad to bully the competition and a nice play here. (9) Dr. Duke is coming in with good form and I think will have a repeat performance last time out on grass in here. Jose Ortiz is going to allow the race to come to them and wait for the opportunity to run down the front runners.
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 6,8,9 cost: $12.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
This may be the field for (10) Lime to wire and I think a wise play in here. Johnny V will not mess around and put this horse on the lead early and try and outrun the field. (14) Air Calvary is a horse I like to be able to find a nice pocket to run in early and that could mean a fanned out wide run at the front runners. Last play will be (6) Summer At The Spa for sticking in here on dirt and training well coming in. This horse is going to be able to run down tiring horses late and I like the chances of that happening in here.
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 6,10,14 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
I am going with all firsters in here as this looks to be a MSW we should definitely pay attention to for races these horses are entered in down the road. (1) Shared Future and (2) Four Dawn are the expected speed from the inside and both horses are training lights out. We should expect these horses to be ridden aggressively from the gate and be forwardly placed throughout. (5) DemandsRespect is going to be my top pick in there as there could be a pace battle up front and I trust Irad to get the job done late with sending his horse down the stretch. (6) Gal in a Rush is my last play with the Rosario/Clement connection. These two love winning 2 year old races and this horse looks to be the real deal as well and wouldn't be surprised seeing this horse fly down the stretch.
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 5,6 w/ 1,2,5,6 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,2 w/ 1,2,5,6 Cost: $6.00
Race 7:
(7) Kaely's Sister is a must play in here and will be on the lead and a tough catch, but I will be spreading a bit to close out the pick 3 leg. (4) Thief of Hearts is my top pick in here and I love the thought of this horse running her best late as she is ascending at the moment. I think this horse takes a step up in here and runs a big one. (3) Master of Hope is a closer I like in here to run strongly late and if there is an early battle up front then this horse will eat up ground late. (6) Lot of Honey is a really good horse in here getting back to a lower level and Davis is to the inside of the favorite. He will be able to force the favorite to the outside of him and may be able to win it with a better trip.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 3,4,6,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,6 w/ 3,4,6,7 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
(15) CHRIS AND DAVE just missed against a similar group last time and the extra distance will help. There’s not a lot of speed entered so he may have it all to himself. (16) WINSTON’S CHANCE took some time off and it looks to have paid off. This is the MTO that I’ll key on as Lezcano returns for another shot. (5) FALKIRK can run on either surface. He ships in and Rosario takes the mount. Wilkes has hit the board with all of his shippers so far and they may have found the group today. (14) LOCALLY OWNED didn’t run a step last time but the race prior he beat a decent group. If he can’t find that race again, he’ll be a handful.
$ 7.00 WPS 16 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 5, 16 w/ 5, 14, 15,16 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(4) DUNBAR ROAD is a tad better than this fillies and mares on her best day. She ran last time like she needed one but that was in a G1. Guessing Brown was setting her up for this and I’m thinking we see a better performance today. The barn has an alternate in (7) ROYAL FLAG. She figures to take the baton if Dunbar is not up for it today. She has yet to run a bad race and she came back strong in her first start this year. She’s 9 for 9 hitting the board so we’ll lean on her WPS. (6) CRYSTAL BALL is 3 for 3 this year but she faces some tough mares today. She continues to work well and Saez keeps winning.
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
$ 5.00 Ex 4, 7 w/ 4, 6, 7 Cost $ 20.00
Race 10:
(8) MUBARMAJ will get bet as he beat a few of these already. A Re-Pete of his last would be enough as he doesn’t mind the moisture as well. A must use. I’ll lean a little bit on (5) LEGIT to wake up here. He goes out for a new barn but Jose stays put. The two turns works in his favor. Look for him closing in late. Rice claimed (3) VILLAINOUS two back and was awful next out against much better. He’s where he belongs today and seems to like the off going. All his wins are on wet tracks. Lezcano opts to ride (8) EASY SHOT here as he was 2nd to the favorite first time on this circuit. New barn and sports a big bullet for this.
