Nine races on this Mother's Day card at Belmont at the Big A. I will be condensing my plays down to just the numbers and attacking the early double starting in R2 (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $ 5.00 Early Double:

R5: 1, 7, 8

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R7: 1, 6, 7

R8: 2, 5, 6, 9

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

(1) NOTMYSTEPPINGSTONE added L1 three starts back, and she's been a better filly since. She seems to be the lone speed of this bunch, so the break is key. If Luzzi can get away cleanly and control the pace, she will be tough to catch.

I’ll use (4) Brooklyn Rhapsody and (6) Broadway Lights underneath for the exacta.

We’ll also use (1) Notmysteppingstone in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

(2) Vesuvio or (3) Runamor in the 4th.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

(6) MASTER OF ARMS will most likely try to bottom out this field. Davis will hustle away outside and try to angle in to save ground. (1) WAR STRIDE won't be that far behind and will try to get position early so they don't get shuffled back. If the top two go at it, that will help set up a late run from (7) AGGELOS THE GREAT. She faces open company but sports two bullets in the AM and can handle these.

Race 8:

(5) CLEAR CONSCIENCE has a few speed figures that top this group. Casse will have this gelding ready off the layoff and can pick up where they left off with those figures. (2) SLAPINTHEFACE has only missed the board once in 10 starts. He draws nicely for his running style, sitting chilly right behind the speeds. (6) CABLE READY is the sleeper. He's been running with these and improving with each start. I like the switch to Santana, and he has a nice closing kick. (9) BORN DANCER has the highest speed figure but breaks way out there and moves up in class.

Race 9:

(2) CAHIRA'S SONG, (3) FIRE'S OUT, and (4) MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE all try turf for the first time. I don't see any problem with the switch, and each has shown some speed in their dirt tries. I will lean heavily on the Clement runner, though, in this spot. (9) MY ANTICIPATION picks up Davis and has speed figures that top this group. She will stalk the front runners and tip out for the drive home.
