We have 11 races on this final weekend at Belmont at the Big A. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 6-8). Big Pete will attack two "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 9-11); GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 5.00 Early Double:
R1: 4
R2: 3, 5 Cost: $ 10.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R6: 3, 5, 7
R7: 3, 5, 6
R8: 4, 7 Cost: $ 18.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R9: 4, 7, 8
R10: 2, 3, 5
R11: 6, 7, 11 Cost: $ 27.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(6) SIN NOMBRE will be mid pack sitting behind the two speeds. He dropped a few races ago and has worked himself back into shape. His last race was strong for him and he ran well in the AM after that race so he looks primed for a big effort for me. The 7F fits him better and he can catch them late at a decent price.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost: $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 3, 6 Cost: $ 18.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 5:
(4) FREEDOM TRAIL was just a little short in his return after a long layoff. That should set him up nicely for a big effort today. He holds two of the highest speed figures of the group and was backed well in that return race. I'll take this 5:1ML to get it done today.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 4, 9, 10 Cost: $ 18.00
We'll use (4) Freedom Trail in R5 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(5) Friend Ofthe Devil or (7) Dancing Bear in the 6th.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 4 w/ 5, 7 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 9:
(4) RUNAMOR has speed and stretches back out. The mud may have been an issue for him, so the fast track makes him dangerous. With not much speed signed on, he may put them to sleep early. (7) DARK MAGIC is the one to beat IMO. Jr can go or stalk depending on the break. This combo has been winning some races together, and they drop him to the right level. (8) GORZO is who I want to try here. He draws nicely outside the speeds and drops slightly back on the dirt. I like the breeze where he was ninth best of a lot of runners that morning.
$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost: $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 4, 7, 8 Cost: $ 18.00
Race 10:
(3) PERUGIA has a rabbit entered for her to make the pace hot. She showed a new running style with the slow start, and maybe they liked it. They may rate and come running late. (5) MISS BOURBON also came from far back in that same race to just miss. Linarite returned earlier this week and didn't fire. That's why I'll try to beat these two with the Mott/Jr combo with (2) SECOND CHANCE. She comes in off a layoff, but Mott can have them ready. She has speed to stay close early and figures to get the first jump on the closers. Jr can save ground and angle out for the drive home.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost: $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 2, 3, 5 Cost: $ 18.00
Race 11:
Both MSW runners dropping into this MCL race will attract most of the attention. (11) BOURBON MILK PUNCH was showing some speed when sprinting and then tried to go long against better. The class relief should help. (6) UNCOMMON showed something down in Florida last time, and they ship her north for an easier group. She may just go and try to bottom them out. The wild card is (7) LADY GUNNER, where she closed okay last time at big odds. Her last bullet is a good sign and she should get some pace to mount a late charge.
